Academic and Co-Curricular Programs

To maintain excellence and promote innovation

Students will have access to meaningful learning experiences that are challenging and relevant.

Every academic program on campus continually strives for excellence while preparing graduates for the ever-changing global community. Beyond the classroom, Pittsburg State offers a broad range of learning opportunities whether that is being a member of the Pride of the Plains Marching Band, being a team member in the annual Baja competition, or attending a lecture in the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts.

State funding has been limited in recent years; funds are not available to support innovation or enhancements. Endowments to support academic departments as well as co-curricular programs will make it feasible for Pittsburg State to pursue innovative programming and offer expanded opportunities that support learning outside the classroom.

Goals

Through private gifts to the Pittsburg State University Foundation, Inc., Pittsburg State will enhance learning inside and outside the classroom by:

  • Supporting excellence and innovation in academic programs in all four academic colleges
  • Supporting co-curricular programs
  • Supporting emerging programs
